In honor of Brazil hosting the World Cup Basement Jaxx recently re-released their Ibiza anthem “Mermaid of Salinas” with new Portuguese lyrics sung by Nina Miranda, and in my humble opinion the changes have made the song way better. (Check the original version of the song out for yourself here.) “Sereia de Bahia” blends the best parts of bossa nova, flamenco guitar and European house music in a completely infectious way that solidly makes this the best song Basement Jaxx have released in years. If you want to have a little fun in the sun shaking your booty, crank this one up.
