OK, so I watched Black Hawk Down on FX on the ol’ boob tube tonight. And to my knowledge they didn’t cut any of the violence out of the picture. Does it seem odd to anyone else that I can watch a man get blown in half on TV, but I can’t hear the guy that found him that way say fuck?
My mom always wonders how I can watch so many horror movies and not be bothered by it. See, I don’t find them disturbing though. This, I find disturbing. SO weird…

Turns out he stabbed her at a VFW party, then was shot to death by another man. I saw that headline though and couldn’t stop reading it over and over. Best thing is, they don’t even mention a VFW until you flip to the inside of the paper to finish the story, so you’re basically scratching your head, wondering why they threw a party for all of this. Classic. My favorite part is that they actually put THEN HE IS KILLED all in caps, just like how I wrote it.

You might not have heard of it, with the hustle and bustle of one of the biggest summer movie seasons ever, but you should really check out Danny Boyle’s Sunshine. What Danny did for drug movies (Trainspotting) and zombie movies (28 Days Later) he’s now done for sci-fi. It’s a mind trip thinking man’s sci-fi movie, one of the most transcendent films in the genre since 2001: A Space Odyssey. Must see.
