It’s not often that I get a chance to write about music from the Philippines, and what’s more surprising is when that music isn’t anything like what you might have expected. If you closed your eyes I’d doubt you’d ever guess Eyedress is even from the Philippines, since their music sounds a lot like all the other hipster-ific indie pop coming out of New York City, Sydney or Sweden right now. “Everything We Touch Turns Into Gold” is quiet dream pop filled with gentle swirling electronic melodies while “Teen Spirits” drifts more towards more energetic 80’s synth soundscapes. Both videos are beautifully shot like a fashion shoot out of Vogue or Nylon and provide the perfect visual accompaniment to these beautiful tracks.
