Much like chocolate and peanut butter, Björk and Michel Gondry are two great tastes that go better together. Since Michel Gondry has already directed about half of Björk’s videos it only makes sense that he would do the video for “Crystalline”, the first single off of her new album. Man, I can’t wait to get my hands of this album. “Crystalline” will sound pretty familiar to anyone who’s listened to Björk’s more recent work — Björk’s beautiful layered harmonies accompanied by quiet tinkling bell and xylophone notes, punctuated by explosive techno beats. Like I said before, I can’t wait to hear more of this album.

I appreciate her quirkiness and have really enjoyed some of her music in the past. I think this song is kinda boring. I like the video and her freaky hair.
This is a really solid album track…although not really a stand out / first single kind of song. I kind of think it might have been chosen just because it’s the name of the album. It’s one of those songs too that just gets better the more you listen to it, which is pretty true of all of Bjork’s stuff. There should be better songs in the future. I can’t wait until the full album leaks so I can say for sure, though.
