While there have been release dates for Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty before, we finally have good reason to believe that Big Boi’s new solo album is finally coming out on July 6th. We’ve been burned before though, so what makes this time different?

Well, for one, Big Boi’s label, Def Jam, has really started to increase the promotional push for Sir Lucious. And then we have the official video for the first single, Shutterbug, which came out today. It’s a crazy video with neon jumpsuits, sneaker mountains, puppets with vocoders and a swimsuit clad woman holding Big Boi’s disembodied head. That and a killer track of electro-funk as weird and unique as the visuals that makes me wish Andre were around to make this a proper OutKast album. Oh well. Until that miracle becomes a reality, we have this to tide us over. This is officially one of my most anticipated albums of the summer.
