Today, more than ever before, I’m seriously considering just jumping on that Seattle job offer.

I know nothing about your life or situation, so I may not be the best person to give advice about this, but I say go for it! (I MAY give better advice than fortune cookies).

  2. Are there any good reasons why you shouldn’t?

I mean, it’s one thing to move to a city with no job, but quite another if you do have a job ready for you there. Would you be able to cover moving costs to get out there, deposit for an apartment, and would your salary cover the higher COL?

Would you be ok with starting over in a new place and making new friends?

Those are the biggest questions I can think of.

    • Well, the best reason for it was that I was totally un-frakin’ prepared for this opportunity to drop into my lap. I had a plan to do this not now, but this summer, and well, you know how I am with plans. I’m still unprepared. Even if I jumped into this with complete enthusiasm I’d still be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I have some money saved up, but I have no idea how much money I would need. Not a crazy amount, mind you, but more than my absurd spending habits usually allow. My question to you: How much money do think one would need to completely start over on the other side of the country, in a city, rough estimate?

Starting over in a new place would be weird and difficult, but not necessarily in a bad way. I’ve just never done it before, so it falls in the realm of the unknown. And new friends? Well, I barely have friends here, so it’s not like I’m giving up much.

Mainly I want to move because I really need a girlfriend. After my last hope at the bank dried up I came to a startling realization that I may never meet someone up here.
