Sign Watch

I drove by the church in Manchester today. And you know what that means. Sign time:

In God We Trust

Jeez, for some reason I just found that sign really stupid. “In God We Trust” in what? We trust that he’ll let more airplanes fly into skyscrapers? What about the terrorists that thought that God wanted them to fly those planes into skyscrapers? They certainly got what they wanted. Whose God are we trusting now, anyways?

Crap like that just makes me angry.

  1. hahah, well I think of God/god like a door knob. The idea of faith in something that I can’t see is insane to me, but then when you talk to people about it, they say it’s like a chair, or a door knob. Well to me, a door knob is something I know will be there, everyday, but it doesn’t do much but let me in and out of my house or where ever. It lets me lock my house sometimes too. But that’s it. So to put my whole life in a door knob, well that’s just crazy. It will on’y be there until someone comes a long and uses a tool to break into it. Like religion, when someone breaks into it, and shows a person the flaws of it all, they ususally stop. Sometimes they will just tune you out because that door knob is their life. To be dependent on something like that…again, I think nutters. In God We Trust is about control, and about taking the masses of people and keeping them in an organized control box.

That’s why it was invented anyway. Check out Pillars of the Earth. Excellent read for the begining of religion.

    • OK, I’ve got faith. I’ve got no beef with God. I think it’s very useful. What I hate is how people use it without really knowing what they’re doing. It’s like giving a child a loaded gun to go to school with, “for protection.” You’re comparing religion to a gun? What’s wrong with you? Give me a break. More people have died for religion than for any other reason. In God We Trust to wipe the earth of these morons.
