OK, well, I have to make a decision on my insurance by Wednesday. I could stay with what I have, which sucks but is relatively cheap ($6) or I could go to a good provider and pay out four times as much. I’m never sick and loathe going to the doctor, but heaven forbid I ever need to do so. I could definitely use the money, but would really REALLY need it if I ever got sick. Oh decisions. I hate them. Mainly because I hate reading all the boring literature they give you to tell you about the plans. Grrr.

$6 per paycheck? Or, for the co-pay? Either way – that’s dirt cheap! I pay $197 per paycheck just to have health insurance and my co-pay when I go to the doctor is $25 per visit. I never go to the doctor, mind you, but feel if I don’t have the insurance then surely a house will fall on me and I’ll drown in hospital bills.
$6 per paycheck. But I get paid every week. How often are you paid? Because $197 seems like a whole hell of a lot. Man, if I was paying out that much I wouldn’t even begin to be able to pay the bills. $6 a paycheck is nice, but as I discovered when I went to the doctor for the first time in forever last spring, they don’t really cover much with that plan. Pretty much accidents and sudden illnesses, that’s it. With the dangers of bird flu though, maybe I do want better insurance, no?
I get paid every two weeks, so I’m shelling out about $400 a month for this stuff! I just had a talk with the VP and told her I need more money, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. At my old company (a huge corporate evil empire), I had the same insurance and only paid $40 a month. It’s good insurance, but I can’t afford it here. I’m not sure what I’m going to do at this point. So, thank your lucky stars you’re only paying $6! That sounds like heaven to me!
