Hello, loyal blog readers. As you have probably long ago noticed I have not missed a single day of posting since I started my livejournal. (Don’t believe me? Check for yourself!) I haven’t always had extremely interesting things to say, but I’ve always been there every day to keep you company.
Thing is I’ve been kind of down on myself lately. I failed my driver’s test and am thus forced to spend at least another month stuck alone in this house. Just recently I have found out that certain people don’t even want to speak to me anymore. I’m isolated and abandoned and let’s just say that I haven’t really been feeling that great about that lately. That and the fact that my livejournal posts illicit few responses for the energy that I put into them have made me decide that I’m going to cease my at least once a day schedule and only post when I really have something I really, really want to share with everyone else. Hey, that’s what everyone else does, right? Why should I clutter up your computer with stuff that you don’t want to read? Why not save it for the good stuff? I’ve pretty much given up with trying to be happy with assuming that people actually read my movie reviews. Who cares? They are even starting to get on my nerves at this point.
However, if there are some of you who do look forward to my daily posts and would miss them if they were gone, and have just been unsung about such feeling up until now I might be willing to reconsider this decision. As it is right now I just don’t care. About anything really. So expect to hear less from me from now on.

dude…
NOBODY comments on my LJ. nobody. yet still i use it. why? probably for the same reason that samuel pepys updated on all kinds of stupid mundane stuff. would be nice in the future to look back and see what i was doing or thinking on whatever particular day, no matter how insignificant it may have seemed to me then. your journal is your own, so whether people comment on it is truly, truly irrelevant. if you like reviewing movies, go ahead and review them… i always found them rather insightful… but if what you say is true, and you really don’t care, then stop. don’t let others make decisions for you by their actions, or lack thereof.
Re: dude…
I actually think you don’t post nearly enough. I want to hear more!
Re: dude…
I too find your movie reviews helpful and entertaining. I have read most of them – particularly those for recent movies, as I find the opinion of another film buff valuable. However, I understand the need to limit the expenditure of writing energy, especially in the face of apparent reader apathy.
Hang in there, bro.
Chances are slim, fish are slimmer
Your film reviews make me laugh. Which is important…I love terrible movies, and thus very few films which I have loved have ever gotten good reviews from anyone. Dracula 2000, Romeo Must Die, Equilibrium, Brotherhood of the Wolf…I love this shit! At some point I decided that film reviews meant little to me…because they would never influence my opinion. I love shitty films…I don’t need to read about HOW shitty they are, I’m well aware. BUT…I love being made to laugh. That is key. Your reviews are not only insightful, they are funny and presented in a way that it doesnt matter if I’ve seen the film or not, and certainly doesnt matter if I AGREE with you or not, they are entertaining as all hell and I love reading them.
That said…working in film, studying film, and living in life I’ve developed a jaded sensation about how it is better to LIVE the stories than tell them, whenever possible. It’s important, for a filmmaker, to be active in life, live real stories and have real adventures such that, when the time comes to create something new, a vast amount of real experience will be there to draw from. I’ve always wanted to be Indiana Jones and not Steven Spielberg. The astronaut, not the astronomer (to take a brilliant piece of philosophy from Jurassic Park III). So it is true, my attention is piqued whenever I see you have some update about your real life…I don’t care if it’s just to say you’ve enjoyed a day at the mall with friends. Movies everyone can enjoy…but I love hearing about how my friends are doing too.
So I say keep up a healthy dose of both. The real reason I don’t comment on your film reviews isn’t that I don’t read them, it’s just I find them hilarious, awesome, and have no desire to enter into protracted debate whether I agree or not. The only ones I haven’t read are the ones that I planned on seeing in the near future…and wished to enter the theater without too much knowledge about the film before hand.
Keep it up, home-nugget.

I’m glad someone got something out of Jurassic Park III. 😉
