Hey, the internet is back on! Nice. Maybe I can post something. Or not. I think I’m going to work on something a little more…substantial. But Whoo ho! The internet is back!
I hope your Christmas was good. Mine was. Except for the whole not having internet thing. That kind of sucked. It’s out AGAIN! I haven’t had it at the house for like three days, which is driving me crazy. Then I come into work Tuesday and they don’t have internet here. Stupid virus messed up the network. Which, let me tell you, is not fun when you have to process sales on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Always here to tell you if buying an Unrated DVD is worth it, I’m here tonight to render judgment upon Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The Verdict? Totally buy it. Much like the Unrated Extended Cut of The 40 Year-Old Virgin, this cut of Talladega Nights adds in all sorts of hilarious inserts and scene extensions that were only cut because they made the movie too long. Nothing feels like it shouldn’t be in the movie. None of the added jokes fall flat. It’s just the movie you loved in the theater, but with more of it. Definitely pick this one up over the theatrical cut. This is one of those movies that shows us why extended cuts of movies on DVD were invented.
An hour and 23 minutes later, guess who finally decided to open its damn trap?
I really fucking hate my old computer right now. Stupid CD drawer has yet to open in approx. 41 minutes so far. Stupid Gawddamnskumsuckinpieceofshit! I just want to burn a damn CD!!!
…OK, calming myself now.
I saw an awesome bumper sticker today while I was getting lunch. This guy had a big green “Earth First” sticker in his back window, which honestly isn’t all that hard to find in Vermont, so I didn’t think much of it at first. They’re about as common as partially scratched off Kerry/Edwards 2004 stickers and those stickers that have Bush’s last day on them.
Anyway, at the stop light I noticed that there was some tiny lettering at the bottom of the sticker. And when I was finally able to read it I laughed my ass off.
EARTH FIRST
We can log the other planets later.
….
Nice.
The O.C. has been non-stop awesome this year. Tonight’s episode was no exception. And it is really saying something in an episode filled with so many surprises that the final reveal of who Kevin (Hercules) Serbo really was was such an incredibly awesome surprise. It knocked me and my sister on our collective asses. I love this season!
51 minutes and counting…
It never stops amazing me that after a customer asks of our Outdoor speakers, “Are these 100% all-weather speakers?” and I respond, “Yes, they are,” literally 100% of the time they follow up with the question: “Do you have to take the speakers in in the winter?” Uh, yes sir, you do have to take these all-weather speakers in when it comes to snow. Because, you know, snow isn’t really actually weather. Snow is like the letter Y. Sometimes it is a vowel, but not really.
This 20-something guy came in the other day with a T-shirt on that said: “Squeeze a boob…Save a life.” It wasn’t until he left and I saw the back of his shirt that I realized it was for Breast Cancer awareness.
When someone asks if you want to join them and a bunch of other guys to play Risk at 10PM on a night where you have to be up the next morning at 7:30AM, you might just want to reconsider jumping in, no matter how fun the game turns out to be…
Here’s the fortune I got at lunch today:
“The thing in us that we fear just wants our love.”
And with that thought, I give you something for the ladies out there:
It is so totally not cool how close I came to hitting the Powerball this week, only to actually get only one number right. Not cool.
By the way, if you are looking for something totally awesome to read, you could do a lot worse than this:
