A Hypothetical Question For You All:

Say you call up an old friend that you haven’t talked to in a while, excited to hear what’s new in their lives. They answer their phone and tell you that they are busy right now, but they will call you a little later. My question: How long should one wait for them to call back before it is acceptable to get royally pissed off that they haven’t?

  1. i dont know… how long has it been since yuo’ve talked and how long since you called?

    • Now let’s just say–hypothetically, of course–that I first talked briefly to this person Saturday night, late, and we agreed to continue the conversation Sunday night, because it was so late on Saturday. Sunday a call is placed, no one answers, but then a text message appears saying they are with someone and will call a little later. No call Sunday. Monday, person is seen online right before stepping out. They know my days off and agree to call in those next two days. Still no call. This, of course, is all a hypothetical situation one might find themselves in.

      • Forget them then. I think that if there was all that going on, and you saw them online, I would be pissed. And being who I am, I would say something about it, in a nice way, but asking, WFT is going on. Of course, this is hypothetical.

      • yeah. i think they’re a shitty friend and stop waiting for a call.
        poop on him or her.
