Busy day

Hmm…things to talk about, yes indeedy. Today we were one person short of putting 50% of our customers through the show, a personal goal of mine. A recent (2005) Bard graduate came in to the store with his girlfriend (2006). He’s from Bulgaria, now living in Red Hook. We had a lot of international guests today. Aside from Bulgaria we had India, Mexico, South Africa, England and a group of four from Japan.

Blondie seems to like to walk by the store at exactly the right moment that I can’t come out the door. Twice she walked by, once as a customer walked in the door, once right after John left, making it so that I couldn’t leave Rachel alone in the store. She’s also been wearing sexier clothes lately. Today, a black shoulderless top, the other day an impossibly tight white baby T. I swear she’s taunting me.

There seems to be a new obsession in my life, though. The other day I ordered Chinese food from out back and I when I went over to pick it up a very cute Chinese girl was working the register. She had no idea what she was doing, however, as it was her first day on the job. She seemed to be having a good time though, and while I thought she might have been flirting with me I brushed that notion off thinking she was just having fun in the awkward situation of the new job. I might have been wrong though. Today Len came in and asked who had the VW Beetle convertible out in the parking lot. I didn’t know what he was talking about, thinking he meant Pieter’s new Mini convertible (he was on loan to the store, as Jeremy is at a wedding. I know, too complicated so far). Sure enough Lenny was talking about the Mini. But that’s all despite the point. The point is, while I was looking out the side door I saw a Chinese girl get into a silver car parked behind Anne Klein who I swear was the same girl from Panda Garden. She stopped getting into the car and we stared at each other for a moment. I don’t really know what it all meant. There is a very good chance I’m going to be eating a lot of Chinese food in the coming weeks.

Too much for one day. I shall retire.
