Gas is just crazy. This morning I filled up my car at $2.95 (put in $31 worth). Drove by the same gas station after work and gas was $3.45. Jebus! They say it is because of the hurricane and that when things finally get sorted out again things will level out. The problem isn’t the supply, it is that we can’t get at the supply. Of course no one actually knows what it is going to “level out” at. I don’t imagine it’s going to go back down very much.
Isn’t that happy news? Last night I watched the Constant Gardener. Great movie. About how drug companies are using African AIDS victims as new drug guinea pigs. When the main characters find out they of course get killed. Happy stuff.
I’m reading in Rolling Stone about how there are more slaves in the world now than there ever have been in any other time period. Don’t you feel great?!
My car does get 31 miles to the gallon. Of course I drive 70 miles a day. Yeah, that won’t hurt.
Tonight I rewatched The Truman Show. It’s really a great movie. Billy, you and I have never talked about it. It seems like a movie right up your alley. Your cup of tea, as it were.
Another close call with Blondie today. She was going the wrong direction at the wrong time. Customer came in. I couldn’t go out. She wore all black.
We switched to new uniforms at work today. Pretty classy stuff. Except my new shoes were killing me. Not enough sole. Or soul. Or both. I’m not sure.
I’m really worried that the current gas situation is going to kill our Labor Day weekend. We’re totally going to suck out the month, I know it. God bless rich people in SUVs and Hummers, who hate the environment and need giant surround sound systems they’ll never use! I was THIS CLOSE to selling a Lifestyle to a couple who don’t watch movies or listen to music. It would have been perfect.
