So you can probably guess from my lack of posting lately that I’ve been working a lot of overtime lately. What you probably (hopefully) didn’t guess is that the OT is going to continue for at least the foreseeable future (aka, the month of August). Dave isn’t going to be working for us after all. He had family commitments and couldn’t find an apartment in Bennington, so he regrettably decided against coming back to us. Ah, oh well. So begins more meaningless making of the money, which I can’t spend, because I can’t ever get away from work. Going to work for 6 days a week isn’t fun people.
My family came back Saturday from Cape May. My mom thanked me for the great job I did watering her plants. I tried to keep a straight face the whole time, as I not once actually watered a plant.
In work news our store and more specifically, myself, will be featured on our corporate website for the kickass job we (I) did last week. We crushed our show numbers, putting about 30% through the show (our goal is only 15%), and our Category A numbers, with something like a 284% increase in sales from the same week last year. That was pretty much all me. I had two awesome sales last week, one over 6 grand and one over 10 grand that included a Lifestyle 48 and 7 additional rooms of sound. So my picture, name, story and everything is going to be out there for the Regional Sales Group (RDG) to see!
I usually do something at the middle and the end of the year where I tell you all of my insane movie statistics and while I’m a little late for the halfway point of this year, July’s numbers are so crazy I couldn’t not put them out there for you to gawk at like some pinhead in a freakshow.
You ready? Here we go! As of today…
# of DVDs I Own: 777
# of DVDs I’ve Bought Just this Year: 199
[For those of you not so good at math, yeah, that’s over a quarter of my collection. No wonder I don’t have space for anything!]
In July:
# of Movies I Saw: 50 [That’s a personal best by 3.]
# of Movies I Saw for the First Time: 46 [That’s ALSO a personal best by 6.]
# of Movies I Saw in the Theater: 8
So Far This Year:
# of Movies I Saw: 237 [As compared to 157 in 2003 and 202 in 2004.]
# of Movies I Saw for the First Time: 202 [As compared to 88 in 2003 and 175 in 2004.]
# of Movies I Saw in the Theater: 43 [As compared to 29 in 2003 and 36 in 2004.]
I’ve also picked up 96 CDs this year.
That’s right, if blatant consumerism had a face, it would look like mine. Feel free to hurl things at me any time.
